1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using UsedBooks, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Marketplace Role

UsedBooks provides a platform for buyers and sellers to transact. We do not own, inspect, or guarantee any listed items. All sales are between the buyer and seller directly.

3. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers must accurately describe their books, including condition, edition, and any damage. Listings must not violate copyright or contain prohibited content. Sellers are responsible for fulfilling orders promptly and communicating with buyers.

4. Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers are responsible for reading listing descriptions carefully before purchasing, bidding, or making offers. Bids and Buy Now purchases are binding commitments to pay. Unpaid auction wins or accepted offers may result in account restriction.

5. Auctions and Bidding

All bids are final. Proxy bidding allows automatic rebidding up to your maximum. The highest bidder at closing time wins, provided the reserve price (if set) has been met. Sellers cannot bid on their own listings.

6. Payments and Commission

All payments are processed through Stripe Connect. A platform commission is deducted from each sale. Commission rates are displayed on the platform and may change with notice. Payouts to sellers occur after order fulfilment is confirmed.

7. Limitation of Liability

UsedBooks is not liable for disputes between buyers and sellers, item misrepresentation, delivery issues, or payment disputes. Our liability is limited to the platform commission collected on the transaction.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the platform.
